Video recording | Transcript COVID19 has highlighted and reinforced inequalities in our society whilst introducing new challenges. Much of the sensitive and research content that was consulted on-site is now kept and used online. This has highlighted that, for many valid reasons, there are laws restricting the transmission of sensitive and research content online. Are they still fit for purpose? On the one hand, there is difficulty in bringing the content online and in accessing it. On the other, there is a challenge regarding legal aspects of data use. Is Europe's approach on data access, sharing and use suitable when remote working has become the new normal? Is Europe ready for all cloud services that do not know geographical boundaries? Where does the data reside and should it be open to non European researchers? Is Europe ready for Open Science?
